Association of Research Libraries
Latin Americanist Research Resources Project
Latin American Partner Institutions
Under the sponsorship of the University of Texas at Austin
General Libraries, the Latin Americanist Research Resources Project was
awarded a grant by the U.S. Department of Education under the
Technological Innovation and
Cooperation for Foreign Information Access
Program (TICFIA).
The grant supports the development of a cooperative model for
partnering with Latin American libraries to contribute to the LAPTOC
database. Gayle Williams, Librarian for
Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia,
serves as Coordinator of
Latin American Partnerships. During the grant period from 1999 to 2002, seven partners
joined the project. Ms. Williams identified potential partners in Latin America, made
visits to each, trained staff, and established policies and procedures to implement the
project. Please contact Ms. Williams at gwillia@emory.edu for further information on the
Latin American Partners program.
