LATIN AMERICA: THE NEXT VIRTUAL FRONTIER

Here are some of the highlights from the recent Lehman Brothers report
titled "The Internet and Latin America"

* Latin America is assuming the role as the next virtual frontier. As
accessibility to the Internet increases, the current user base is expected
to grow from 7.4 million to somewhere in the 27 to 34 million range by
2003. An array of international and local players is diligently looking to
carve out their own niches in Latin America's growing Internet space.

* Brazil offers the largest market for Internet companies, representing
over 45% of the region's estimated 7.4 million Internet users and a larger
piece of the current e-commerce pie. Mexico is the second-largest market,
with almost 11% of the region's users. Estimates put the Latin American
Internet user base at 27 to 34 million users by 2003.

* E-commerce is still in very early stages, with approximately 422 local
sites recently identified in a study of e-commerce in Latin America. We
believe that, as in other parts of the world, e-commerce offers tremendous
opportunities in Latin America, especially to early entrants that are able
to establish brand name recognition and quality services.

* The Hispanic population in the United States offers an additional
estimated 14.5 million Internet users, while Spain currently boasts an
additional estimated 4 million users.
