Forwarded from lala-l, for general interest. This was a response to a query
on how to find a suitable publisher for a book manuscript.
======================================================================
The American Association of University Presses (AAUP) maintains a web site
at: http://aaup.uchicago.edu/. At this site one can search, by subject
heading and keyword, all the publications of these presses. As a result, if
one has a book manuscript and is looking for a publisher who might be
possibly interested in it, one can search this database to identify those
who are or have been publishing in the subject area of the manuscript.

In doing a search on Argentina and women, I found three books published at
the University of Nebraska Press--but all came out during the first half of
this decade. A search for Paris writers brought up quite a few books
published by the University of Chicago Press, followed by Illinois, Iowa,
Yale, Princeton, and Cambridge.
