Senate Bill 92 - Increases access to the "Healthy Families" low-income
family health insurance program. Currently, all legal immigrants who
moved to the United States after 8/1/96 cannot enroll in the "Healthy
Families" program. This bill will remove that restriction. Author Sen

Assembly Bill 16 - Allocates state $$ to increase wages & benefits for
those who provide in-home care services to the elderly, blind, &
medically disabled. Introduced by Assemblymember Mike Honda (D-San Jose)
& Antonio Villaraigosa (Speaker), will be voted on June 23 in the Senate
Health & Human Services committee.
Assembly Bill 666 - Would provide scholarships for college of up to
$2,000 to high school students who perform community service.
Introduced by Assemblymember Gloria Romero (D-Los Angeles), Assembly has
passed and Senate must will vote on it within two weeks.
