>From the Harvard Civil Rights Project:

The most important trends in this report are the accelerating resegregation
of the South
and the continuation of a long and relentless march toward even more severe
segregation for
Latino students as they become our largest minority. The study also shows
large enrollments of
African American and Latino students in the suburbs and serious suburban
segregation,
particularly in the nation's large metropolitan areas. The segregation that
is spreading in the nation
is not just segregation by race. Segregated African American and Latino
schools are many times more
likely than white schools to face concentrated poverty, which is
powerfully related to lower
educational results.
