Governor Davis Appoints Christopher Campana to Deputy Post

SACRAMENTO -- Gov. Gray Davis named Christopher M. Campaņa to be deputy
secretary of the California Trade and Commerce Agency. He will head the
International Trade and Investment (ITI) Division of the California Trade
and Commerce Agency.

Campaņa, 36, is a native of San Mateo County and has served as Gov. Davis'
deputy press secretary since the November election. He also worked as
Davis' press secretary last fall at the Capitol and during the 1998
Democratic primary. Campaņa holds a bachelor of arts degree from California
State University, San Diego and a master of arts degree in international
policy studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
