The Radio/TV/Film area of the Department of Communication at the University
of Wisconsin, Oshkosh invites applications for two tenure-track assistant
professors. Starting date for both positions is September 1, 1999. Salary
range is competitive for nine-month appointment.

Position #1: Ph.d in Radio/TV/Film (or related area). Expertise in
Broadcast News and Writing, with ability to teach a variety of courses
in a program that integrates professional training, theory, and practice.
Must provide evidence of potential for successful teaching and
scholarship. Courses may include: Writing for the Broadcast Media,
Advanced Media Writing, Broadcast News Workshop, The Documentary, and
Radio/TV/Film Communication.

Position #2: Ph.D in Radio/TV/Film (or related area). Expertise in
media theory/criticism, with ability to teach a variety of courses in
a program that integrates professional training, theory, and practice.
Must provide evidence of potential for successful teaching and scholarship.
Courses may include: Understanding Radio/TV/Film (General Education
course), Radio/TV/Film Communication (required for all majors), History
of Cinema, Telecommunications in the Information Age, and Seminar in
Radio/TV/Film.

Both Positions: Conduct research appropriate to tenure-track position,
advise students, and participate in campus and department service
activities.
