I am looking for more information
about the discovery of a Taino Indian village
in the Este National Park, Dominican Republic.
Three ceremonial plazas ("bateyes") were found,
as well as the remains of houses. Supposedly these
are the ruins of the village destroyed by
the Spanish in 1503 (the "yukayeke" of
Xaragua?). According to the article, Charles
Beeker & Geoff Conrad, both from Indiana
University, are involved with this project.
Thank you!
