I am taking the liberty of using this
list to ask your assistance on a personal situation.
I am trying to get a small parcel (about 12 lbs weight)
to Ruben Mateo Sebastian, a Kanjobal Maya from
Guatemala, who used to live here in Minnesota.
Myself and other of his friends have been
sending money to help support his family. Ruben
requested a Bible in Spanish and some books
to help him perfect his English. The private company
that we use to send money orders charges $130 to deliver
the package (amount that we rather give to Ruben!) We have been told
that the regular postal system in Guatemala is not reliable enough to
deliver these books.
If somebody is traveling to Huehuetenango
(Ruben lives in La Democracia, Mesilla-Frontera), and doesn't
mind delivering the Bible and other books, please contact me
(see below).
