A new scholarly journal - =93Revista Mexicana del Caribe=94 - has been=
launched
recently by the Universidad de Quintana Roo in joint efforts with the
following institutions: El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (Undidad Chetumal),
Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Antropolog'ia Social
(Subsede Chetumal), Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos (FCPyS, UNAM - Area
del Caribe) and the Asociaci'on Mexicana de Estudios del Caribe.=20
This journal will be published twice a year and covers geographically the
whole Caribbean area. It will give priority to the analysis of contemporary
problems in the Caribbean, without leaving aside the study of history.
Moreover, it will also include research in the natural sciences which is
concerned with sustainable development in the Caribbean. Therefore, the new
journal is aimed at a truly interdisciplinary focus as well as at
stimulating a permanent dialogue among different disciplines.
