My name is Ron Mader; I'm an environmental journalist and an ILAS alum. I
host the Eco Travels in Latin America website (http://www.planeta.com/) and
currently, I'm at work on two books on environmental travel in Mexico and
Honduras that will be published in 1997.
Here are a few announcements:
1) The email version of the newsletter I publish - El Planeta Platica - is
available for free (or fee-optional) by request. (Send an email to
ron@txinfinet.com) Planeta appears quarterly and gathers both environmental
news and travel info for the region. It is also archived online the Eco
Travels website and a gopher at the Communications for a Sustainable Future
(CSF) site.
2) Subscriptions to the print version cost $25 year or $10/year for students.
3) The CSF gopher (gopher://csf.Colorado.EDU:70/00/environment/orgs/
El_Planeta_Platica/) hosts many academic works - and I am particularly
interested in building up an online archive of environmental materials from
Latin America. If you'd like to add something, please contact me. I do not
charge to put anything on line.
4) In regard to the two books, Mexico: A Natural Destination and Honduras: A
Natural Destination, I am eager to correspond with anyone working in
conservation or tourism in these areas.
5) After the completion of these books early in 1997, I would be interested in
pursuing a teaching position either in the US or Latin America. My resume and
bibliography are online; I can also send them through the regular post.
