My name is Elissa Lesser. I am originally from Brazil and I am currently a
Ph.D. student in the Clinical Psychology program at Adelphi University
(Garden City, New York). I have already sent you a note in the past
informing you about my research on "Adjustment to College" and my need to
find international students from Latin America (undergraduates) who came to
study in the United States without their parents.
Since the summer is about to end and classes are about to resume, I was
wondering whether you would know anyone who might be interested in filling
out the questionnaire for my research because I will be collecting survey
responses from students during the whole Fall semester.
The questionnaire should take less than 20 minutes to be completed. I can
either E-mail the questionnaire to the student or send it through the postal
service along with a stamped self-addressed envelope for the return. All
the responses will be anonymous.
To participate in my study, the international student needs to be:
1) From Latin America,
2) A freshman or sophomore,
3) Between the ages of 17 and 21,
4) The student should have moved to the United States without his/her parents.
