I think Julie Nordskog-Mier and the other naysayer personify the two
worst traits of the net and of so-called "higher academia" : Impersonal,
holier-than-thou snobbishness and the idea that we somehow shouldn't
relate to each other, professionally, on a personal basis. " Pen-pals"
indeed. If you all would lighten up a little bit, maybe this list would
be more active.
