The tentative program includes discussion sessions on THE FUTURE OF AREA
STUDIES, ORGANIZING AND PROVIDING OUTREACH SERVICES, COOPERATIVE LANGUAGE PRO-
GRAMS, AND ORGANIZING A LATIN AMERICAN PROGRAM.
This meeting will address the interests of all Latin American Studies programs,
regardless of size. The CLASP Steering Committee especially encourages program
directors at 2 and 4-year colleges, as well as interested Latin Americanists at
schools that may not have a formal Latin American Studies program, to attend.
Registration materials for the conference will be mailed in late August. In
the meantime, for more information, please contact ELIZABETH MAHAN, Center for
Latin American & Caribbean Studies, University of Connecticut, 843 Bolton Road,
