Vacancy announcement
Country Director for Training and Credit Program in Nicaragua
Pro-Mujer (Programs for Women) is a non-government organization, whose
mission is to help woman raise themselves and their families out of
poverty, through training and access to credit. Pro-Mujer has developed
a training and credit program in Bolivia, where it has established 150
communal banks with over 4,000 members. Pro-Mujer will be replicating
this successful program in Nicaragua, and is looking for an experienced,
qualified person to be Country Director.
Management responsibilities
During the initial stages of the program, the Nicaragua Country Director
will:
Work with Pro-Mujer's Executive Director to:
- set up office
- hire and train staff
- organize and plan programs
Work with Pro-Mujer Bolivia staff to:
- adjust training materials
- adjust credit program
- set up financial management and information systems
During the three years of the project, the Country Director will be
responsible for:
- planning and organizing the training and credit program
- directing and supervising the training and credit staff
- monitoring and evaluating the training and credit program
- working with donors and other NGOs
- supervising and directing the financial manager
Experience required
- At least five years in Latin America
- Experience in micro-enterprise development
- Experience in credit, communal banks preferred
- Experience in implementing training programs for women
Qualifications:
- ability to supervise and direct staff with leadership
- good organization skills
- good written and communication skills
- Spanish and English fluency
- computer skills
Salary and Benefits
$24000 to $30000
