i am doing preliminary research on the plight of "illegal" immigrants of
latin-amerrican origin in the united states. i believe that the present
system has many probs, ranging from, al fondo, the notion that norteamericanos
have a "right" top be on "their" land more than anybody else, to the modern
situations (e.g. prop 187 in california) that are not only unfair to the
"illegals", who are favored and disowned by the U.S. based on vacillating
econ. trends, but are also unfair to the children that will eventually BE
citizens by birth.
i do not want to go into the issues at length right now, partly because i am
not terribly knowledgeable. if anyone out there is knowledgeable about this
subject, i would be very grateful for info, resources, opinions, etc.
thank you,
