Alaor Macedo and His Band
Mr. Alaor Macedo is an Afro-Brazilian poet and a three time champion
composer for the prestigious *Salgueiro Samba School* of Rio de Janeiro;
and his music has been featured as Salgueiro's theme sambas during
Rio's 'carnaval' parades of 1989, 1990, and 1991.
MUSIC TO BE PERFORMED AT THIS EVENT:
Samba, Sambao, Samba-Cancao, Samba de Roda, Samba de Partido Alto, Samba
de Breque, Samba Sincopado, Samba de Terreiro, Samba de Quadra, Samba
Duro, Samba Enrredo, Baiao, Axe Music, Frevo, Calango, Batuque, Chula,
Batucada, Toque de Capoeira, and Bossa Nova.

MR. MACEDO'S BAND IS TRUELY ONE *OF THE BEST*
His percussion 'ala' (or section), for instance, makes you feel like
you are in the streets of Rio de Janeiro, during Brazilian 'carnaval,'
listening or, better yet, *dancing* to the best of samba's
electrifying rhythms.
