interesting question - one i think lasnet may be interested in discussing.
the average bermudian would say no; we don't consider ourselves a part of
the caribbean *per se* - most of the authors i've read (across a number of
disciplines in humanities and social sciences) dealing with the Caribbean
region don't either - bermuda is noticeably absent or peripheral to these
discussions (e.g. LA/C FAO reports, Handbook of the Commonwealth
Caribbean Region,etc.).

*however* (there always is one, y'know) the minority opinion (of
which i'm a part) recognizes that bermuda's cultural, historical, geological
patterns are typically "caribbean" - i think that bermuda is culturally
"caribbean" despite its geographic remoteness and its own traditional
reluctance in accepting such a categorization.

comments, maybe ?
