THE MEETING IS BEING HELD IN at the same time as Canadian Council of
Area Studies Learned Societies (CCASLS) which will bring together specialists
from African studies and Asian Studies associations. Members will be able
to subscribe to both meetings and take advantage of the diversity
which these other meetings will offer.
Papers and Panel suggestions are now being received. For more details
about CALACS/ACELAC subscribe to the Association ($45 cdn for academics
and professionals, $15 for students) and receive the
News Letter with all the information about the meeting and our group. We
represent 400 members over Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada and the
United States. We hold annual meetings in October or November, we publish
an academic journal which is included in the membership and we finance
association chapters at all the corners of this enormous country.
