I am an Internet Society member and I would
like to introduce myself and as well as tell
you about a project we are initiating here
that you may have an interest in. My name is
Jutta Hagner, I am Director of Information
Resources at the Council for International
Exchange of Scholars a cooperative agency of
the United States Information Agency (USIA).
We are the administrative body handling the
senior Fulbright Scholar Program.

Annually USIA/CIES sends several hundred
scholars to foreign universities to lecture
or do research and bring several hundred
foreign scholars to do likewise in the U.S.

We are very much interested in providing
scholars going abroad with e-mail access to
their colleagues back home as well as foster
permanent channels of communication between
U.S. and foreign academicians and professionals.

To establish such permanent communication
links we are launching a project in which we
hope to identify specific individuals at non
- U.S. universities who can provide scholars
with Internet access when they arrive at the
university.

If you have thoughts about this project or could
provide assistance or names of individuals for
this role that would help us and we would very
much appreciate hearing from you.
