Latin American Scholarship Program of American Universities (LASPAU)
is pleased to announce two new appointments that support the
organization's electronic communications activities:
JEFF PERKELL
Jeff PERKELL is LASPAU's Project Officer for Electronic
Communications. Jeff comes to LASPAU from Harvard's Office for
Information Technology where he assisted in the use and
development of Internet-based research facilities. Jeff teaches
the Internet and is a consultant for network-based curricula
development. He has worked in Latin America for the United
Nations Development Programme, the World Population Fund and
international NGOs as a writer, covering development projects
and issues.
Jeff will develop and manage activities that encourage
connectivity of current and former grantees in the United States,
Latin America and the Caribbean, maintain and develop LASPAU
listservs, and serve as liaison for staff and consultants
to improve electronic communications links among LASPAU grantees,
alumni, clients and constituents. Finally, Jeff will provide
follow-up support services to participants in Fulbright and Mellon
Foundation electronic communications workshops conducted
throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

HECTOR BRICENO
Through a student internship with Harvard University, Hector
Briceo will support LASPAU's lists and grantee connectivity
projects and will serve as technical liaison between LASPAU
and the Fundacin Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho. Hector is Venezuelan
and a Computer Science major at MIT in Fundayacucho's Galileo Program.
Hector founded and currently maintains the Galileo list.
